About Rofin
Rofin-Sinar was founded in 1975 in Hamburg, Germany as SINAR Laser System Verkaufsgesellschaft mbH, and soon became one of the world’s leading manufacturers of high-performance industrial laser machines and components.
Rofin was acquired by Siemens in 1987, then spun off to become its own company again in 1996. Over the years, Rofin acquired other laser manufacturers, including DILAS Diodenlaser, Baasel Lasertech, Z-Laser S.A., Corelase Oy, and Optoskand AB, until its acquisition by Coherent in 2016.
