Diode Lasers: From chip production to beam-shaped turnkey solutions

Coherent's vertically integrated, high-power diode-laser production capabilities are described from epitaxial growth, to wafer processing, inhouse made optical holographic filters for wavelength locking & narrowing, as well as packaging facilities which support wavelengths from 638nm up to 3µm. Power scaling concepts and optical beam shaping allows to tailor the beam to your application. Diode Lasers: Current and emerging surgical and therapeutic applications

Laser diodes enable a vast array of medical procedures spanning aesthetics to life-saving therapies. The influence of key properties such as wavelength, spectral control, power and packaging form factor on applications of laser diodes in the surgical and therapeutic arenas will be discussed. Diode Lasers: Monitoring health and developing new therapies

Lasers are widely used to interrogate samples in clinical diagnostics, where success requires using several specific laser wavelengths. We can now get all of these wavelengths from a combination of diode lasers and “optically-pumped” diode lasers called OPSLs. Diode Lasers: Powering manufacturing

In manufacturing diode Lasers can be used to empower processes of a few Watt um to several Kilowatts. There robust design and efficiency make them superior to other laser types for these applications. On the other hand, their accurate power control and sharp density distribution improves the quality of the processes. Diode Lasers: Efficient laser pumping

How are laser diodes used to pump other lasers? This presentation will review the evolution of diode-pumping of laser materials over the past five decades and provide an overview of laser architectures and diode laser modules that are being used in present-day diode-pumped solid-state and fiber lasers. In this presentation, we will cover various geometries and combinations of diodes and optical elements addressing diverse applications that in turn may require high power, narrow linewidth, wavelength stability and tight environmental compliance.
