Steve Rummel 

Senior Vice President, Engineered Materials

Steve Rummel joined Coherent Corp. in 1988 and has been the Senior Vice President of Engineered Materials and Laser Optics since 2019. Over the span of Mr. Rummel’s time with the company, he has held leadership roles including Vice President of the IR Optics Division (2016-2019), Vice President of Product Technology and Quality (2014-2016), Director of Product Technology and Quality for IR Optics (2009-2014), and Quality Manager (1999-2009). Between 1988 and 1999, Mr. Rummel held various engineering, quality, and product technology roles in the IR Optics Division.

Mr. Rummel graduated from Grove City College with a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and holds an M.S. degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. He serves on the Grove City College STEM Dean’s Advisory Council.
