Gary Ruland    

Vice President, Silicon Carbide LLC

Gary Ruland has been with Coherent Corp. since 2012 and is currently VP, Silicon Carbide LLC. He joined the company as Director of Technology and has served in management roles including General Manager, Advanced Materials, and VP and GM, Wide-Bandgap Business Unit. Prior to Coherent, Dr. Ruland worked for Sandvik/Diamond Innovations as Senior Development Engineer/Manager, Prototype Engineering, and for Lucent/Agere/Triquint as a Member of Technical Staff.

Dr. Ruland graduated from George Mason University with a B.S. degree in Chemistry and earned a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He holds more than 30 patents related to wide-bandgap and optical technologies.
