Chief Human Resources Officer

Chiew Mee Yong was named Chief Human Resources Officer of Coherent Corp. in May 2023. She joined the former Finisar Corporation in 2005, where she was Head of Human Resources for the Ipoh, Malaysia, factory. In 2015, she transferred to Wuxi, China, where she served as Director, Human Resources, for the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. Two years later, Ms. Yong relocated to the Finisar headquarters in California as the Senior Director, Compensation and APAC.

Upon II-VI Incorporated’s acquisition of Finisar in 2019, Ms. Yong was named Vice President of Total Rewards, and with the merger of II-VI and Coherent, Inc., in 2022, she became Global VP of HR Operations. Prior to joining Finisar, she held HR roles at Technology Resources Group and TRW Systems in Singapore and at Carsem in Malaysia. Ms. Yong holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and certifications in HR Management and Compensation.
