David is a General Partner with BTN Ventures, a $50M national technology-focused venture fund focused on pre-seed and seed-stage software companies. He serves on multiple public and private company boards and has extensive experience in strategy development and company formation. David’s corporate operational experience have included Director of Engineering, Global Sales and Marketing VP, and VP, GM, roles at Respironics (acquired by Philips), Covidien Surgical Devices (acquired by Medtronic), and Headwaters SC (acquired by EY).
David’s venture experience includes an EVP role with a Nomura Securities funded tech start-up, VP GM role with a corporate venture fund, founding partner of two private venture funds, and board director for multiple venture backed tech companies.
He is also the co-founder of the African American Directors Forum, established in 2017, which has become one of the most highly regarded national platforms for board-ready and board-proven African American executives. His non-profit activities include serving as board chair for SRI, Inc. (Stanford Research Institute).
David is a Distinguished Alumnus Awardee from the University of Pittsburgh’s Swanson School of Engineering, earned his MBA at the Harvard Business School, and leads the 3 Star Admiral program at the US Navy War College, “World Class Performance: The Role of Leadership, Process, and Talent.”
