The 1:1 and 1.8:1 Optical Imaging Accessories (OIAs) and fiber tapers offer the end-user a cost-effective way to reformat the light from our fiber-coupled diode lasers. The OIAs and fiber tapers are designed with the industrial user in mind, but can also be used in medical and scientific applications.

The OIAs focus the launched light into free space. These OIAs allow direct imaging of the fiber source or a reduction in the source size by a factor of 1.8 to 1. OIAs are especially useful where the end-user needs to protect the end of the AR-coated, large-core fiber from harsh environments. OIAs provide an efficient source of focus-directed light or heat. The 1:1 OIA is user-configurable for a variety of magnifications. As an added feature, the output can be manipulated to produce light as a collimated source. Depending on the OIA model, the working distance can be varied to accommodate most applications. Each OIA is manufactured and assembled within a rugged, stainless steel housing. The input is designed to attach to any standard SMA 905 connector.

All OIAs can be equipped with several options, such as a gas-assisted nozzle, to improve industrial cutting and drilling, or a ring-aiming beam, which is collinear with the infrared output.

Fiber tapers provide an economical means to launch the light from our high power fiber-coupled diode lasers into large core optical fibers with highly efficient power transmission. Specifically, they are designed to reduce the laser beam spot diameter while preserving the brightness.
